Starting from October 28, one artist from the Imago Mundi community and one journalist, writer, expert or curator will share views on a same topic in a cross-disciplinary conversation.

We will begin with Fallen Fruit and Laura Barreca, who will talk about ART AND PUBLIC SPACES.

Fallen Fruit is a Los Angeles based artists David Allen Burns and Austin Young, Fallen Fruit began by mapping fruit in public space and has expanded to include serialized public projects, sitespecific art installations and happenings in various cities around the world, and often working with fruit trees and fruit as a material or medium. Their projects and works re-imagine the public interactions within the margins of urban space, systems of community and narrative real-time experience, by turning them into creative and interactive art activities, highly useful also in terms of public utility, community and participative involvement. Fallen Fruit is an art collaboration originally conceived in 2004 by David Burns, Matias Viegener and Austin Young. Since 2013, David Burns and Austin Young have continued the collaborative work.

Fallen Fruit is now on show at Gallerie delle Prigioni, as part of the Imago Mundi Art Theorema#2 collection.

Laura Barreca is Director of Museo Civico Castelbuono (Palermo) and mudaC | museo delle arti Carrara and Professor of Contemporary Art History at the Fine Arts Academy, Carrara.
