D’ARC Foundation opens its autumn program with AMORE CHIAMA COLORE, a group
exhibition that, weaving together works from the Foundation’s collection with those of invited
artists, explores the role of color and examines not only its technical properties but also the
meanings it can evoke, from the emotional to the political dimension.
At the core of the exhibition lies Amore chiama colore IV (1956) by Piero Dorazio, a seminal
work from the collection that provides the conceptual framework for the project. From this
starting point, the exhibition introduces for the first time a selection of new acquisitions by
John Armleder, Monia Ben Hamouda, Ross Bleckner, Samuel Nnorom, and Odili Donald
Odita. These are presented in dialogue with works already part of the Foundation’s collection,
including those by Alfonso Fratteggiani Bianchi and Tadasky.
The exhibition also features contributions by additional artists whose practices revolve around
multifaceted investigations of color, including Josè Angelino, Pablo Atchugarry, Giacinto
Cerone, Michela de Mattei, Federica Di Carlo, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Genuardi/Ruta,
Giulio Turcato, and Austin Young.
