DESCRIPTION
Il Sogno di Andromeda (Gold) is a limited-edition serigraph by Austin Young, drawn from Marriage of the Sea, a site-specific work that premiered in Venice during the 60th Venice Biennale at Palazzo Cesari Marchesi, presented by The POOL NYC.
The work reflects Venice’s centuries-old relationship with the sea, reimagining the historic ritual of the city’s symbolic marriage to the Adriatic as a contemporary meditation on our responsibility to the sea, the environment and life on the planet.
Hand-printed in Venice as a six-color serigraph, the composition is set against shimmering Favini Majestic Real Gold paper. Its metallic surface catches and changes with the light, giving the printed image a physical luminosity beyond the original artwork.
Each work is individually signed and numbered by the artist.
