ABOUT THIS WORK

Portrait in Light explores the intersection of human vulnerability and natural radiance. This work is part of Young's acclaimed series examining contemporary portraiture through the lens of classical painting traditions. The piece captures a moment of raw intimacy, where light becomes both subject and medium, revealing layers of emotional depth and technical mastery.

ARTIST STATEMENT

In creating this work, I sought to capture not just the physical presence of the subject, but the ephemeral quality of light as it interacts with form. This piece represents a culmination of years spent exploring how photography can achieve the tonal range and emotional resonance traditionally reserved for painting. Each print is meticulously produced to preserve the subtle gradations and luminous quality of the original capture.
